Steve Vai Takes HCM City by Storm with Inviolate World Tour

The audience who completely filled Nguyen Du Indoor Stadium were captivated by the breathtaking performances of Vai, a three-time Grammy Award-winning artist, and his talented colleagues.

They were truly amazed by Vai’s extraordinary Hydra guitar, a multi-faceted instrument with two headstocks and three necks, featuring 7 and 12-string guitars, a 4-string ¾ scale length bass, 13 sympathetic harp strings, half-fretless necks, single-coil, humbucking, piezo, MIDI, and sustainer pickups, as well as floating and hardtail tremolo bridges and phase splitters.

This concert in Vietnam marks Vai’s first performance in the country, celebrating his 45-year-long music career and promoting his latest album, Inviolate.

Vietnam is the inaugural destination of Vai’s Inviolate World Tour in Southeast Asia.

Vai, at the age of 63, is an accomplished American guitarist, songwriter, and producer. He has been nominated for Grammy Awards 15 times and has been honored with the prestigious award three times.

He began his musical journey in 1978, ventured into a successful solo career in 1983, and has since released eight successful solo albums.

His most acclaimed album, Passion and Warfare (1990), has been hailed as “the ultimate hard rock guitar-virtuoso album of the ’80s”. Vai was ranked as the 10th Greatest Guitarist by Guitar World magazine, and has sold over 15 million records worldwide.
