Vietnam kicks off 2023 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship with victory over Iran

The win was largely attributed to the excellent performance of outside hitter and captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy. Sport Center 1, which mainly features members of the Vietnamese national women’s volleyball team, asserted intense pressure in the start but the very first points went to Paykan. The two teams relentlessly chased after each other for every single point until the Vietnamese side claimed the first set by 25-22. Paykan put the match back to the starting line after winning the second set by 25-21. Each of the two teams took one in the third and fourth sets, thereby extending the match to a fifth set, in which Sport Center 1 staged a comeback to conclude at 15-10. Southern watercolors displayed in Hanoi’s relic site

More than 105 watercolors by 19 artists from Ho Chi Minh City are on display for the first time at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, according to Dr. Le Xuan Kieu – Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities, Temple of Literature. The exhibition is an effort to connect southern painters with Hanoi people. Through it, citizens of the capital can see images of southern people and landscapes, he said, adding that it is also a combination of the ancient heritage of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam with contemporary creative activities, as the relics will be turned into a creative space of the capital. Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai welcomes Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel. Ho Chi Minh City wishes to learn from Luxembourg’s experience and cooperate with the European country in science-technology and green finance, towards building a financial center in the time ahead, a municipal official said on May 5, VNA reported. At a reception for Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel, Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai stressed that PM Bettel’s visit will contribute to boosting cooperation activities between the city and the European nation.
