Meanwhile, Infobae newspaper also ran a story entitled “Argentina and Vietnam wish to strengthen bilateral trade”, affirming that through high-level meetings between NA Chairman Hue and Argentine leaders, the two sides agreed to strive for USD 10 billion in trade by 2025.

Resumen Latinoamericano newspaper also reported activities of the Vietnamese top legislator during the visit. It quoted President Alberto Fernandez as emphasysing that Argentina highly values the prestige and rising position of Vietnam in the region and the world, and affirming that there is ample room for the two sides to collaborate, especially in trade and investment.

Before leaving Argentina, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended a forum on trade and investment opportunities with Vietnam in the Argentine province of Santa Fe on April 26 (local time).

Taking place at the Rosario Stock Exchange, the event was participated by Governor of Santa Fe Omar Angel Perotti, Governor of Cordoba province Juan Schiaretti, and Governor of Entre Rios province Gustavo Bordet; as well as other officials, heads of trading floors and enterprises from the three central Argentine localities, which account for 60% of the country’s total exports to Vietnam.

At the event, he witnessed the exchange of cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its counterpart of the central region of Argentina.

This marked the end of the official visit to Argentina by NA Chairman Hue and his entourage before starting their official visit to Uruguay.

Argentina was one of the first Latin American countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam.

The two-way trade has increased strongly to USD 4.88 billion in 2022 from only USD 378 million in 2007, making Argentina the fifth largest trade partner of Vietnam in the Latin American region and Vietnam the sixth biggest trade partner of Argentina globally.

Argentina is one of the leading suppliers of corn and animal feed to Vietnam. Regarding investment, Argentina currently has five projects in Vietnam, ranking 122 among the 140 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.

The two sides have conducted many joint projects in agriculture, anthropology-forensics, science and technology.
