Contestant departs for Miss Eco International 2023 in Egypt

June last year saw the 19-year-old Thanh Ha of Ben Tre province crowned Miss Eco Vietnam 2022, meaning she will represent Vietnam at the Miss Eco International 2023.

The girl has so far participated in many charity activities, such as building bridges to assist the poor in mountainous regions, a cycling campaign to promote physical training, and a tree planting campaign to help protect the environment.

Ha has also joined in volunteering activities to support disadvantaged children and appealed for aid to support children who lost their parents and relatives during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She revealed she has brought two outfits created by fashion designer Nguyen Huu Binh to the world pageant. They include an outfit named Hồn nước (soul of water) for the national costume sub-contest and an Ao Dai (traditional long dress) to join in different activities. Both outfits aim to promote Vietnamese culture to the world.

Miss Eco International was originally formed in 2015 under the motto of “Beauty For Eco”. The main motivation behind starting the pageant was to spread environmental awareness among the masses through economic and environmental themes. In addition, the pageant also abides by the motto of finding an emissary for environmental causes.

The beauty pageant therefore seeks delegates who have the ability to spread the message of protecting the environment to the masses.

This year the contest is scheduled to begin from February 22 in Egypt and will feature the participation of 65 contestants worldwide. Kathleen Patton of the Philippines, who won Miss Eco International 2022, will crown her successor in the grand finale which will be held on March 4.
